The vocal part of the show was indeed a treat to the mothers in the audience, who heard the nostalgic classic Indian hits made popular by Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi from the latter half of the 20th century.

Nelisha Ali of Kanhai’s Active Trishul Orchestra started the ball rolling, rendering a set of popular Bollywood romantic hits, including “Har Khushi” and “Tere Naam.”

Boya Shaffiat Mohammed gave the cheering audience “Mujko Iss Raat,” “Duniya Baniwale‚” and a string of Kishore’s favourites.

Nandini Kanhai and her father Krishna Maharaj performed “Miya,” “Khol Mil Gaya” and “Tum Bin” and later re-appeared to sing several duets, including the popular 1970s title track from the movie Sun Sajana.

Neesad Sultan became the centre of focus when he sang “Zindagi Bahr,” “Rahi Manwa” and “Janewalo Zara.” The audience enjoyed a taste of slapstick when veteran comic John Agitation had patrons rolling with laughter for more than 15 minutes.
