Everybody Loved Raymond
at the Anchorage…

Red Dresses, Dim Lights and melodious music were the order of the night at the Anchorage, Chaguaramas, on Friday 13th Feb 2004. Entertainers at the Lion Valentine Spectacular traveled by a boat to get to the stage situated on a barge which for the first time was anchored at sea, one hundred yards off the shoreline of the Anchorage.

The much-anticipated concert started promptly at 8.30 with the winner of the Television series, Mastana Bahar, Hema Balkaran. The second and third place winners, Trisha Ramdhan and Imran Beharry, followed her.

But it was when Master of Ceremonies Fazeer Rojan attempted to introduce the star of the show, that the crowd went into a frenzy chanting Raymond, Raymond, several members of the audience rose to their seats to give the entertainer a welcome that was fit for a king.

Ramnarine, who made his entrance from the ocean, sailed along the shoreline, surrounded by fireworks, as he greeted fans before starting his performance. Each song, which followed was a hit as the audience danced and pranced into the next morning.

New chutney superstar Adesh Samaroo performed several of his hits to the delight of the thousands present.

The ambience was perfect for Valentine and the patrons just can’t wait for the 2005, which the producer promised would be even more spectacular with the emphasis being on the comfort of the patrons.
