The Durga Shakti Dance Company has been in existence for the past six years and has grown to be one of the top dance groups in Trinidad and Tobago. This group is based in Mc Bean Village in Couva. The leader of the group is Candice Bedasi who was a student of the former leader of the Desh Premee Dance group Randy Dhanessar who now resides in England.

This team of young dancers have so far participated in all major competitions giving more than creditable performances such as Mastana Bahar, Coca Cola Teen Talent Competitions, Best Village Competitions just to name a few. Their dancing skills have also taken them to Guyana, Jamaica Martinique and Candice has recently returned from Germany together with the Soca Warriors.

The group can also be seen on numerous videos such as Adesh Samaroo's "Rajinder Jeem Jeem", Neeshan Prabhu's "More Rum For Me", Molly Ramcharan's "Ade Man" and Heeralal Rampartap's "Thats Mih Family". They have performed for numerous stars such as Asha Bhostle, Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam and Nittin Mukesh.

Having received tremendous support from our country they seek to persevere and promote our cultural contribution to Trinidad and Tobago locally, regionally and internationally. The Durga Shakti Dance Company is famous for the unique and enticing flavour as they specialize in many different and creative styles in dance.
