Jeewanlal
Bissambhar - Vocalist
|
Unique. It’s the one description this gentleman needs. He is the father to a power house of entertainers, and he is the trendsetter when it comes to music. His name is Jeewanlal Bissambhar and he is one of the founding members of Karma. Father to Anil, Nalini, Nisha and Ravi Bissambhar, he is one of their sources of strength and over the years he has been their guide to a music industry which embraced the Bissambhars.
Jeewanlal started not only as a vocalist but mastered the art of bass guitar as well. Over the years he has become known to the Indian music industry as the only singer this side of the Caribbean to have the closest sounding voice to Jagjit Singh.

With this talent he has grown in the hearts of many, not only in Trinidad but in the States as well. This gentleman has not only been able to sing to his heart’s delight, but has with some very reputable names such as Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Anup Jalouta, Pamela Singh, Usha Uthup, Alka Yagnik and Ramanand Sagar just to name a few.

Nisha
Bissambhar -
Vocalist
|
Nisha’s life and being celebrates the essence of music. Having grown up with the ever presence of rhythm, and strong Indian cultural background, this talented singer devoted herself to the music industry at a very tender age.
After completing her secondary studies, and having gained distinctions in English language and literature, Nisha’s career officially began. She envisioned a life of being kept close to her music, and so she indulged in numerous cultural activities and programs which included Mastana Bahar and The Children of Mastana.
Nisha claims this venture paved road for her career and gave her the inspiration to move onwards. In the year 1999, she released The Scorpion, a song that was voted one of the most popular songs of all time.
Some time after, together with the empowerment of her two brothers, Anil and Ravi, Karma was formed. Nisha says her love for music is cemented with Karma and her strength lies in her passion. |

 |
 |
In 2005, Nisha was awarded Best Female Artiste; an award which she believes is her motivation to only work harder.
Some of the highlights of her career was singing a duet with former Prime Minister Mr. Basdeo Panday at a private function, having a heart to heart talk with Alka Yagnik and learning of Alka’s secret tea, and being nominated for the Caribbean’s best soca chutney female artiste. She has met with Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, and Anup Jalouta, just to name a few, but the ultimate personality she dreams of meeting Lata Mangeshkar of course.
At present Nisha holds the position of a radio broadcaster at radio 90.5 fm where she co-hosts The Night Life with her brother Ravi. As for further plans? You’ll jus have to wait and see.
