Thirty six year old Dion Dookie of Gasparillo emerged as the winner of the third preliminary round of the Mastana Bahar 2010 competition last week. Dion impressed the judges with his rendition of a song originally performed by Indian playback singer Pradeep. The second prize was won by Samantha Ramcharan-Singh of Williamsville, while Ryan Singh of La Romaine placed third. The fourth prize was won by Boya Shaffiat Mohammed of Ghandi Village and the fifth prize went to The Tri Devi Dance Group of San Fernando.

Meanwhile, the following contestants have been selected to appear on the fourth preliminary round of the Mastana Bahar 2010 Competition :-

This programme will be recorded on Thursday 24th June, 2010 from 5:30pm at The Rampersad Brothers Ranch, Raju Trace, San Francique Village in Penal. The jackpot for the popular Pick-A-Pan contest will be $1,000.00 cash sponsored by The National Flour Mills. Music will be provided by The PVC Ceiling Company Rampersad Brothers Orchestra of Penal.

The next audition for the Mastana Bahar 2010 will take place on Sunday 27th June, 2010 at The Esperance Village Community Centre, Derrick Road, Esperance Village, San Fernando with registration starting at 10:00 am. The audition is free to the public and there will be many giveaways from the sponsors of the competition.
