Hansraj Ramkissoon

Hansrai Ramkissoon was born in the year 1953 and has had a string of outstanding achievements and awards over 35 years.

After winning the National East Indian Dance Competition at the age of thirteen he went on to teach with the Ministry of Community Development.
In the 60's Hansrai represented Trinidad and Tobago at performances in Guyana and Suriname and had the honour of performing for former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during a visit to Trinidad in 1968.

A former member of the BWIA Indian Art orchestra and a lifetime member of the National Council of Indian Culture, Hansrai Ramkissoon has won a number of national awards for singing.

He has also performed extensive community service across the country over the years through several religious organisations and village groups.
Hansrai now lives in Florida and is teaching voluntarily at the Florida Hindu and Cultural Organisation.
